Going through customs at the airport

A woman takes a trip to New York where she must go through customs at the JFK airport.

Stella

(inner thoughts) I always get so nervous when I have to pass through customs. I sure hope I pass without a hitch

Customs officer

Good afternoon, ma'am. May I see your passport please

Stella

Yes, of course here it is

Customs Officer

Tell me ma'am, what's the purpose of your visit? Are you on business or just passing through.

Stella

I'm here for work. I am going to be speaking at a local conference about the growing environmental problems that we face.

Customs Officer

I see, so you're an environmental activist I take it.

Stella

Yes, you could say that.

Customs Officer:

Alright, and how long do you plan to be in New York for?

Stella

Just three days.

Customs Officer

How much money are you carrying on you?

Stella

I have a thousand dollars with me.

Customs Officer

Alright, and can you give me the address of where you will be staying?

Stella

Yes, I'm going to be staying at the Hilton near West 35th street.

Customs Officer

Is this your first time in New York?

Stella

No sir, I've been here before several times, also for work

Customs Officer

Okay, everything seems to be in order, here's your passport. Welcome to the United States.

Stella

Thank you very much, do you happen to know where I could find a gift shop?

Customs Officer

Take a right and go down the hall and you will find several of them on your right
